A selection of short video clips showing the positive, trust-based training methods we use at Holtball Exmoors.

HAWKWELL VERSUVIUS & HORSE AGILITY

HAWKWELL VERSUVIUS & HORSE AGILITY

Bear tried out some Horse Agility obstacles during the Native Pony Stallion parade. It was his first ever experience of a busy indoor equestrian event and his first every time 'at liberty' in public.

The above video clip shows Hawkwell Versuvius making his first ever appearance 'at liberty' at a public event. He has been training in the new equestrian sport of Horse Agility and was invited to take part in the Native Pony Stallion Parade at the South West Equine Fair in December 2010. 'Bear' had never been shown in a busy indoor environment at a public event before, so it was quite a test to see what he would do. Despite a large crowd, a lot of noise and a very prominent exit - with huge doors open to the outside and views of the grass (!), Bear was able to concentrate and perform obstacles at liberty, including jumping through the blue hoop at the end. You can also see footage of him working at home, where he is more relaxed and connected with his handler. Over time, as we continue to learn this exciting new sport, we look forward to seeing how Bear develops.

RETURNING TO HIS MARES - AT LIBERTY...

Here's some footage from the summer of Bear returning to his mares, after being ridden. He's completely 'at liberty' and it shows how the relationship achieved with Horse Agility training can enhance your every day relationship.

(Tchaikovsky's music is uncanny in the timing here!)
