Pontispool
has been open for competitions and schooling since 1999 and is proud
to host a variety of events including the British Eventing Pontispool
Horse Trials as well as regional trials for the Pony Club, British Riding
Clubs and the British Show Jumping Association.
International
riders and trainers such as Mary King, Lucinda Green and Jennie
Loriston-Clarke speak highly of Pontispool's facilities. Pontispool sponsored Lucy Wiegersma in 2007 - Lucy is hoping to compete at the next Olympics.

Give yourself the edge with a clinic at Pontispool...
Pontispool Equine Sports Centrehas several dressage, cross country and showjumping clinics lined up to help give competitors the edge. Among the trainers who will be giving clinics are British Evening accredited trainer Caroline Creighton who will teach gymnastic jumping exercises on February 1 and cross country on February 8 and March 31; Charlie Hutton will hold dressage clinics on February 15 and Match 22; international event rider Jade Lazenby will teach showjumping on February 17 and cross country on February 18 and Chris Johnson will hold monthly jumping clinics. courses are invariably altered between events. |

CROSS COUNTRY COURSE
|
The course meanders through the parkland of Monty's Court and traditional Somerset countryside. The terrain is mildly undulating and the old turf provides good going throughout most of the year.
The course is fully accredited by British Eventing, the Riding Club and the Pony Club.
Open from February to November, weather permitting.
Set in 120 acres of parkland.
Over 100 fences, 2 water complexes, 2 quarry complexes, all weather take offs & landings, well built obstacles to Pony Club & British Eventing standard.
Open fences: 2'9" to 3'9".
Minimus fences: 18" to 2'6".

Saddle up for a summer camp
Taking part in a summer camp isn’t just for children and their ponies. If you want an opportunity to have a fun weekend with your horse, then Pontispool Equine Sports Centre near Taunton is the place to head. There are two all weather arenas, two full sets of BSJA showjumps and cross country fences range from 18ins to 3ft 11ins. The camps are especially good for nervous or novice riders or those wanting to give their riding skills are real boost. There is also plenty of fun to be had.

The weekend includes stabling, hay and straw, accommodation, and the use of the swimming pool and tennis court.
“Quite often, riders find the prospect of coming to a camp too daunting for words, but we really take care here not to over face riders and to teach them at the right level. Riding horses is all about fun, and we’ll make allowances for those who may not want to jump for example. The cafe is open for most shows and events at Pontispool. Trevor will provide a wide variety of food from children's meals to banquets, so don't bother to pack your sandwiches!
