'When we decided to expand our riding holiday business we invested heavily in a new website. We had great hopes for it but the initial results (hit rates) were poor- we just couldn’t seem to get our name onto search engines. We were then contacted by Equinetourism.co.uk, offering to list us in their directory. We started with the basic package costing just over £60 for the year. Included in this cost was the design of our advert as well as a year’s hosting. Having already tried Google promotions on a cost per click basis, we though the cost was very low and thought no more of it. After 6 months we reviewed our advertising and found that Equinetourism.co.uk was generating over 85% of our hits. This return was for only 9% of our online advertising budget. We immediately decided to increase our advert to a full-page feature costing around £300, which again included page design cost. Having tried many different forms of advertising including magazine, classified directory listing and web promotions nothing has generated anywhere near the traffic of Equinetourism.co.uk. The key seems to be that we may have only one advert with them but we appear in several areas of the site. This diversity allows visitors to their site to find as they browse with separate area each generating a good hit rate. We are a small business trying to expand in a competitive market. Many promotion firms, advertisers and websites have offered results,, but failed to deliver. Equinetourism.co.uk, however, has returned to us 10 times our expectations. We regularly achieve 2 or 3rd place search listing on Google due to Equinetourism.co.uk, and we all know that 'good Google equals good business'. We would not hesitate to recommend Equinetourism.co.uk. as it has shown, and continued to prove, how effective a targeted and efficiently run website can be for creating awareness. During our dealings with Equinetourism.co.uk, the staff have been professional, efficient and friendly, but, most importantly, genuinely interested and committed to improving our business.'
