Your Horse Adventures - ride across Wales on your own horse

*Miles of unspoilt country * Magnificent scenery * Panoramic Views * Long grassy tracks * Exhilarating beach rides
* Seriously good accommodation* Great food * All inclusive holidays * Discounts for groups

Most of us have dreamed of doing an epic ride and imagined ourselves following in the footsteps of people like Aime Tchiffeley..... and for those of us with our own horses, they are normally included in the dream. Abee (my mare) and I recently rode with two friends across Wales, from the English borders to the Welsh Coast. Whilst it wasn't in the 1000 miles league, the 70 odd miles filled a weeks vacation to perfection'. Fran
Holidays for You and Your Horse
Your Horse Adventures offers riding holidays for riders with their own horses who want to explore the fabulous Welsh countryside. Your guides, Karen Roberts and Medina Brock, cater for people who want to holiday with their own horse in Wales but don’t have the time to do the research and trail finding.

You will find thoroughly researched the trails that, while interesting and a challenge, are safe and passable. There is a 5 day ride from the English border to the Welsh Coast, or a One Centre Holiday riding each day in the Radnorshire hills from your base at Brandy House Farm. You can either ride with Karen or Medina, or ride alone with detailed maps and directions.

Please note that guests bring their horses at their own risk and are required to have public liability insurance. It may be possible for experienced riders coming with friends or family bringing their own horses to arrange for a hire horse to ride the Radnorshire Hills on the guided option. Please enquire.

Your Horse Adventures - Ride in the Radnorshire Hills from Brandy House Farm

Stay at the Brandy House and ride out and back each day. There are miles and miles of bridleways and open moorland just waiting to be explored. We have put together a fabulous 4 days (two half days and two full days) riding for you which shows you some of the best countryside.

You can of course ride for more days if you want to or less.......there is a lifetime of exploring to be done here so we will not run out of options!

The Brandy House is situated between Knighton and Newtown on the Welsh/English Border. You will have a wonderful time with your every need catered for. We have for many years now been host to guests who come for B&B or stay in our cottage and bring their horses with them. We are happy to talk through the riding and help guests plan their routes. We pride ourselves with the quality of service that we provide and are now delighted to be able to offer a more 'bespoke' service where we can guide you on a selection of the best routes.

We know the country well and can share with you some of our great riding. You will cover more distance if you are guided and see more as route finding in these parts it not easy.........there is a lack of way-marking and thousands of acres of open country! Of course not everyone wants a guide but would like something more than just a map and a compass. So we also offer a self-guided option with a marked map and detailed route description.

The riding holidays are inclusive of accommodation, full board, and either grazing or stabling for your horse, luggage transfers on place to place rides and horse and human transport back to the start.

Your Horse Adventures - 5 Day Ride Across Wales to the Welsh Coast
From the English borders to the Welsh coast, through the magnificent Cambrian Mountains and along parts of the Glyndwr's Way and the Prince Llewellyn Ride, this trip offers the ultimate experience of riding approximately 70 miles across the breadth of Wales.

Beginning near Knighton on the English/Welsh Border the route meanders over hills, through open moorland, rolling farmland, woodland and the forests of Mid-Wales, and finishes on a beach just north of Aberystwyth.

It follows sections of the Glyndwr's Way, parts of the BHS's Prince Llewellyn ride and sections discovered by us. The route takes you through spectacular scenery and uses permissive
rights of way, forgotten bridle-paths, open moorland crossings, old drovers trails and quiet country lanes.

The riding holidays are inclusive of accommodation, full board, and either grazing or stabling for your horse, luggage transfers on place to place rides and horse and human transport back to the start.

Accommodation on Your Horse Riding Holidays...
For you...
You will spend four nights out on the trail staying in a selection of wonderful accommodation, varying from traditional Welsh Farms to country cottages. Karen and Medina have met some fabulous people on their recces, and are delighted to be able to offer you quality and exclusive over night stops.

Your hosts will welcome you into their homes, where they will cook for you and look after you allowing you to relax at the end of your day. Your horses are most welcome - 'Our horses have tried and tested them all !!'

For your horses...
Stables are available at The Brandy House (first and last night) and but can not be guaranteed each night throughout the rest of the ride.

Your horses will be in a paddock. If horses need to be separated, two paddocks can be arranged for most of the accommodation along the route. Where separate paddocks can't be arranged, electric fencing will be carried with the luggage ferry, so horses can separated as necessary.

Your Horse Adventures - Your Guides
Karen Roberts and Medina Brock have been riding the hills together for several years. Their passion is to take to the hills for several hours (or days at a time!!) with their horses and best friends, Jade and Dusty, a map, compass and saddle bags stashed with supplies!! They are both really enthusiastic about Your Horse Adventures and look forward to meeting you and sharing with you some of the fabulous riding they have discovered.

Karen Roberts

Karen has always loved horses and has been riding since she was 11.She left school to work with horses and had jobs working on stud farms, with show ponies and hunters in between bringing up a family and working full time as a nurse she studied BHS stage exams and achieved stage 11.
She is now studying Natural Horsemanship and Parelli level 2. Jade and Karen have been together for 10 years and since moving to Wales some years ago Jade has completely taken to trail riding and just loves the whole experience. Karen has a passion for the outdoors, enjoys mountain biking and walking and with her husband, Richard, has cycled miles of the bridle-ways in Mid-Wales.

Medina Brock
Medina was a 'pony mad kid' and had her first pony at the age of 12 who she had great fun with. As well as fitting in her passion for horses she has worked as an Occupational Therapist for 20 years. She left the NHS in 2006 so that she could concentrate on developing things at The Brandy House. Her time is now split between running the Brandy House with her husband Richard, raising a family, and studying Parelli Natural Horsemanship. Dusty, a 15.1 welsh/arab gelding, has been with her for 6 years and they are playing in Level 3. He has really taken to his new job as a guide horse and they are just having
great fun together.
